Rustic Leather started as a quest for the ultimate leather briefcase that would fit my lifestyle. I did not want a run of the mill bag made out of canvas, nylon, or fancy, shiny leather. I didn't want silk or cloth linings, I didn't want snaps, zippers, or velcro which can break. I wanted a rustic, Indiana Jones type of bag that would last through whatever adventure I put it through. I wanted a bag that would be my companion for business meetings, outback excursions and urban tramping. I ride a motorcycle and have always had serious custom leather saddlebags that have lasted many years and many miles in all kinds of weather. I thought to myself, 'I need a satchel as durable as my trusty old saddlebags'. I searched for this perfect combination of functionality and durability in a bag but it was not to be found anywhere at a reasonable price... So I made my own. The first prototype was a hit as I carried it to meetings, airports, even coffee shops. People always asked me about my cool leather briefcase and where I got it. Several folks even offered to buy it from me on the spot. With this kind of response, I wanted to make more of these beautiful bags and offer them to the masses, which I did and Rustic Leather was officially born. When you buy a Rustic Leather product, you buy an heirloom quality piece that will last your whole life and then some. Durability to the extreme!
