OXIS Energy is developing the next generation Lithium Sulfur battery chemistry that will revolutionize the rechargeable battery market. With a theoretical energy density 5 times greater than Li-ion, it is suitable for a wide range of sectors, including aerospace, space, automotive and energy storage. OXIS has been at the forefront of researching Li-S batteries since 2004 and has developed its unique technology around sulfur based cathode materials, highly stable electrolyte systems and lithium anodes. Based at the Culham Science Centre in Oxfordshire, OXIS is well equipped with state of the art production, test and analytical equipment as well as one of the largest dry room facilities in Europe. OXIS and its research partners are focusing on the development of the world leading Li-S chemistry that can be used in a wide variety of battery applications. Grant funded projects include the Horizon 2020 projects ALISE and ECLIPSE, while Innovate UK co-fund REVB, ULTB and MAS.
