Color Alliance originates from a cooperation of print media and software producers whose aim is was to standardize and simplify digital large format ink jet printing. The basis of the idea was standardized coatings for different types of print media. With a number of CA certified print materials, consistent color quality of digital prints can be assured. Production is simplified and the number of color profiles is reduced drastically. Along the lines of market developments the Color Allianceâ€˜s focus has shifted over time. At the beginning of the cooperation web-to-print software was already an important topic for optimizing print processes and has gained in importance ever since. CA has started with software called Web2Print ultimate, for extensive workflow solutions, including individual assignment of permission, production control and open- and closed-shop options. In addition to this comprehensive project solution mainly for key clients, CA's aim was to develop a W2P solution for the "print shop next door". With the solutions Web2Print Shop and smart|EDITOR, Color Alliance succeeded in offering an affordable product even to small LFP businesses. Those companies can now quickly get into the act and start their own online print business. The company now focuses on constant improvements of web-to-print solutions for the users. Customer's needs and requests are most important to Color Alliance and are seen as the basis for further software developments.
