Marine Power Systems Ltd (MPS) develops wave power technology. The company was founded in 2008 by Dr Gareth Stockman and Dr Graham Foster to develop and bring to market the WaveSub wave energy converter. The WaveSub, designed and built in Wales, has the potential to substantially reduce the costs of energy generation from waves. Funded by a mix of public and private sector investment, MPS has completed two Phases of the development of the technology and is currently undertaking Phase three: the design, build and testing of a quarter scale prototype. The roll out of their first small scale wave farm is scheduled for 2020.
