NHS South East Coast is the regional headquarters for the NHS in Kent, Surrey and Sussex. We provide strategic leadership for all of the health services in our region and have overall responsibility for the performance of 8 primary care trusts (PCTs), 12 acute trusts, 3 mental health and learning disability trusts, 1 trust that provides community rehabilitation services and the South East Coast Ambulance Service. We make sure that NHS services in the region provide high quality services by looking at ways they can improve performance and make services more accessible to the diverse communities they serve. We also work to develop the skills of the NHS workforce. As well as improving health services, we have a role in helping our local communities look after their own health by creating strong partnerships with other region-wide organisations such as local government, to make sure services across the region are joined up and working well together.
