SAINT PETER'S HEALTHCARE SYSTEM Saint Peter's Healthcare System, Inc. is a New Jersey nonprofit corporation sponsored by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Metuchen. The System consists of Saint Peter's University Hospital, Saint Peter's Health & Management Services Corporation and The Saint Peter's Foundation. SAINT PETER'S UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL Saint Peter's University Hospital is a non-profit, 478-licensed bed acute care teaching hospital. Saint Peter's is a designated children's hospital and a Regional Perinatal Center that operates one of the largest maternity services in New Jersey and in the country. In 2010 alone, the hospital delivered 5,885 babies, 1,384 of whom needed care in the hospital's Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The hospital is a major clinical affiliate of Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences providing full-time training to as many as 60 students in their third and fourth years of medical school, and has a clinical affiliation with The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Saint Peter's sponsors its own residency programs in obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics and internal medicine and hosts other university-sponsored residents in radiology, orthopedics and surgery.
