Founded in the 1970's by young entrepreneur, Neil Schmidgall, Superior Industries has since grown into one of the world's largest manufacturers of bulk material processing and handling systems. After schooling, Schmidgall's first job was at his father's sand and gravel plants. He developed a passion for rebuilding the equipment and quickly earned a strong, regional reputation for flexible, innovative machinery. As a result, Schmidgall felt called to start his own manufacturing company and Superior was born in 1972. His original vision was simple: to serve his customers with integrity and provide opportunities for employees present and future. Schmidgall passed his famous pioneering personality to the next generation and today, Superior owns more than two dozen patented technologies. Ranked as one of the fastest growing companies in North America, the 45-year-old firm has long-term relationships with customers on six continents and employs more than 1,500 people in 25 states and two Canadian provinces. The company's product lines continue to evolve as well, from portable plants and conveyors in the beginning to a near complete group of solutions for crushing, screening, washing and handling of dry bulk materials today. In addition to Superor's corporate headquarters in Morris, Minnesota, manufacturing operations have expanded to Arizona, Nebraska, Illinois and Georgia, two Canadian plants in Alberta and New Brunswick and a Brazilian-based factory in São Paulo.
