Mayor's Message Kamloops is proud to be known as Canada's Tournament Capital. Our new sports and recreation facilities provide everyone with the opportunity to maintain a fit and healthy lifestyle. The natural surroundings allows for year round recreational opportunities. Kamloops is proud to host many cultural and community groups that enrich our City. It is a wonderful safe and healthy environment to raise a family. Both the north and south shore offer excellent business services. Residents can find a unique blend of shops, boutiques, bakeries, coffee bars and restaurants both downtown and on the north shore. Our library and art gallery are in the heart of downtown. The beautifully restored St. Andrews-on-the Square and Riverside Park offer a wonderful place to relax and enjoy our fine weather. McArthur Island hosts arenas, soccer fields and baseball fields and is used regularly for walking and roller blading. Kenna Cartwright Park and Peterson Creek Park have an abundance of excellent biking and hiking trails. The City of Kamloops welcomes you.
