The Matagorda County Hospital District (MCHD) was established in 1965 by an act of the Texas Legislature to serve the health care needs of Matagorda County residents. The District is comprised of: ✯ Matagorda Regional Medical Center (Level III Trauma Center) ✯ Closely aligned multi-specialty medical group practice with five locations and an Urgent Care Center ✯ Baylor College of Medicine affiliation (hospital and medical group) ✯ Stand-alone medical wellness and outpatient rehabilitation center ✯ The MRMC Foundation ✯ Multiple public health, community health, and WIC clinic locations ✯ Texas Rural Accountable Care Organization (TRACO) support hub and HQ ✯ Provider and management service agreements in support of regional critical access and community hospitals, FQHC organizations, and regional specialty clinics.
