The Hochschule Ostwestfalen-Lippe – University of Applied Sciences emanated from the Fachhochschule Lippe – University of Applied Sciences, which was founded in 1971 (with sites in Lemgo and Detmold), and the Höxter University of Applied Sciences department, which was part of Paderborn University. The Hochschule Ostwestfalen-Lippe - University of Applied Sciences is a higher education institution "in the region" and "for the region", albeit with an international outlook. Most of our students come from the districts of Lippe and Höxter, and neighbouring districts in NRW and Lower Saxony. We have excellent contacts to local industries and businesses, which have collaborated with us to develop new courses of study. The quality of teaching and study is the primary objective of the Hochschule Ostwestfalen-Lippe – University of Applied Sciences. Moreover, the scope of duties involving further education and applied R&D are growing in importance.
