Mission Statement Our mission, as a premiere Jewish Community Center, is to strengthen and preserve Jewish culture, promote respect for diversity, support the State of Israel and World Jewry, and enhance the well-being of our members and the communities we serve through cultural, educational, recreational, social, wellness and child development opportunities. JCC Vision To be a dynamic, in-demand, full-service Jewish Community Center and an exceptional place of belonging. Who We Are The JCC is a thriving non-profit community center that welcomes the diverse population of York County, regardless of religion, financial or ethnic background. Since 1910 the JCC's role has changed and expanded to reflect the current times. Our staff is committed to providing members and guests with high quality programs and customer service. Included in a membership is the use of the fitness center, over 75 group and water fitness classes each week, lap and family swims, open gym use, adult swim lessons, family art and gym activities, a relaxation center complete with whirlpool, sauna and steam room, and discounts on fitness, social, and enrichment classes and programs. The JCC provides programming for: Wellness & Fitness for all ages Children's Education Youth/Teen Camps Culture for all ages Jewish Culture and Holiday Programs Holocaust Education Diversity Education Contemporary Adult Programming The JCC History The Jewish Community Center was founded originally as the Young Men's and Young Women's Hebrew Association and eventually changed its name to the Jewish Community Center. Between 1910 and 1952, it moved to five different locations in York City. In October of 1989 the JCC moved to our current location on Hollywood Drive.
