The Newcomer Centre of Peel (NCP) is a multi-service agency that assists the entire newcomer family in achieving settlement. With experience and expertise in adult language training; employability and business start-up and other settlement services including connecting to community services, such as childcare and healthcare, and programs for women, youth and seniors; NCP offers a dedication to quality of service and an understanding of each client's needs. The impediments to successful integration cannot be dealt with in isolation. We have to ensure equality of access to opportunity to enable immigrants to connect to the enduring values and principles of what defines Canada. NCP, working with funding from Citizenship & Immigration Canada; hopes to foster loyalty towards Canada from our new immigrants and their families by providing a variety of holistic services in a friendly and familial atmosphere. LABOUR MARKET ACCESS FOR NEWCOMERS (LMANC) The Labour Market Access for Newcomers program (LMANC) provides newcomers with the required assistance to find employment that matches their skills and education. We offer in-class training on job search skills and workplace orientation along with a 10-week co-op opportunity. Software training in EXCEL, QuickBooks and Sage 50 is offered to those in the Accounting & Finance stream. GLOBAL BUSINESS CENTRE (GBC) At the Global Business Centre (GBC), our Business Advisors provide counselling and training on the establishment of new businesses in Canada. In our classes, clients will learn about creating a business plan, resource management, business law and taxation, marketing and business communication, networking, business specific technology, and many other business related topics. We have a team of three Business Advisors who assist each client independently and/or in a classroom setting. RURAL EMPLOYMENT INITIATIVE (REI) Funded by the Ontario Trillium Foundation the Rural Employment Initiative is a partnership between Community Futures Ontario and the Newcomer Center of Peel. The REI program aims to connect internationally trained professionals with employment opportunities in rural areas of Ontario. We assist newcomers in finding jobs and ensuring smooth settlement into rural communities. SELECT FOR SUCCESS PROJECT (SFS): Funded by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, NCP works with the New Canadians' Centre of Excellence Inc.'s and the Thunder Bay Multicultural Association to help connect employers/business owners with a pool of newcomer candidates with the right type of skills to satisfy the high-demand occupations in our regions. Select for Success is distinctive in its design as it provides a range of services to employers to assist them with sourcing skilled workers, both inland and overseas, (through Express Entry) to meet their unique labour market needs.
