The Wings of Hope is a UK based children's charity, providing education and support for underprivileged youth around the world. We currently run school projects in India, Malawi and the UK. Our main project, the Wings of Hope Achievement Award (WOHAA), was set up in 2004 and is open to 13-18 year old students in the UK and Europe. It is founded on the pillars of the 3Rs: recognising students' fundraising activities, ripening their abilities, and rewarding them with work experience, skills workshops and a unique winners' trip to India to teach at the Wings of Hope school. Participating in WOHAA will help a young person develop competencies in teamwork, leadership, communication, project management and event planning: 'soft skills', that are being seen as more and more essential by modern employers. In 2012, our Speed Mentoring Event was set up to demystify the world of work for young people. Young professionals from many and diverse industries, including medicine, finance, music, fashion, and marketing come to give our participants an insight into career progression and their options for the future. We have also run a very successful Back To School Day event, putting bright young minds, top executives and world-class speakers together to facilitate inter-generational learning. We are an international children's charity working to provide free education to children in the developing world. We are not affiliated with any religious or political association.
