The Museum of Children's Arts develops interactive spaces where children and their families create, share, and connect through art. An Oakland institution since 1989, the Museum of Children's Arts (MOCHA) introduces children to the power of art through engaging, educational programs at our downtown museum and in schools, libraries and other community sites throughout the Bay Area. At our Museum we offer a broad variety of programs including interactive exhibits, open studios, birthday parties, field trips and corporate off-sites. MOCHA teaching artists lead residencies in Bay Area schools, libraries and after-school sites through our School and Community Program. Our innovative curriculum fosters children's creativity, critical thinking and social and emotional skills. MOCHA is a leader in arts education and we offer professional development to educators both through our residencies and our museum-based programs. MOCHA strengthens community by nurturing young people's creativity, curiosity and educational success. We emphasize outreach to culturally and economically at-risk communities. A pioneer in arts education, we provide training and tools for educators, parents and youth development professionals.
