Barden was founded by Theodore Barth and Carl Norden (hence the name 'Bar-den') in 1942 to make precision ball bearings for the Norden bombsight. Barden sister companies of FAG Aerospace GmbH, FAG Aerospace, Inc. (Canada), and Barden UK, Limited, all have repair station licenses. A formal application for a repair station license is in place for FAG Aerospace (Singapore) Pte. Limited and a letter of intent has been submitted for a repair station license at Schaeffler Aerospace Bearings (Taicang) Co., Limited.
