It is comprised of the nine local authority areas of Barnsley, Bassetlaw, Bolsover, Chesterfield, Derbyshire Dales, Doncaster, North East Derbyshire, Rotherham and Sheffield. The Sheffield City Region has a diverse economy comprising a dynamic core city, important towns and market towns, fabulous countryside and a significant rural economy. The City Region encompasses more than 1.8 million people and approximately 700,000 jobs. The Sheffield City Region economy has an output of more than 30 billion pounds per year and contains approximately 52,000 businesses.
