Founded in honor of Benjamin Franklin, The Franklin Institute is a museum in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and one of the oldest and premier centers of science education and development in the United States. The Franklin Institute itself comprises three centers, The Science Center, The Franklin Center, and The Center for Innovation in Science Learning. It also houses the Benjamin Franklin National Memorial. In the spirit of inquiry and discovery embodied by Benjamin Franklin, the mission of The Franklin Institute is to inspire a passion for learning about science and technology. Permanent exhibits in The Franklin Institute include The Giant Heart, Your Brain, The Franklin Air Show, Electricity, Changing Earth, Sports Challenge, Space Command, Sir Isaac's Loft and Amazing Machine. The Franklin Institute also is home to The Tuttleman IMAX Theater and the Fels Planetarium.
